[Franklin Printing]. (ANTIGUA)

A printing from the press Franklin sent to Antigua — first under Thomas Smith, then, from 1752, under his nephew Benjamin Mecom, who failed there as he failed everywhere. The press itself would come home: Parker used it at Burlington in 1765 to print the history of New Jersey below. A rare survival of Franklin's Caribbean venture.
