A presentation copy of Poor Richard's Almanac for 1751, incomplete containing all pages up to and including August but lacking the rest.

This is a cardboard case inscribed from Willman Spawn to C. William Miller, the author of the most comprehensive and standard reference to Franklin's Philadelphia printings. Spawn was a well known historian and bookbinder, noted most for his extensive knowledge of the history of bookbinding.

In the forward of his book, Miller states "to Willman Spawn I am obliged for putting at my disposal his extensive knowledge of colonial American bookbinding and making it possible for me to include the identity of many of Franklin's binders and the reproductions of their identifying tools." (Miller, p xi)

The inscription reads: " To CWM who knowed (sic) the most about Franklin and yet never owned an imprint. Willman Spawn Sept 25, 1970"
