[Franklin Imprint]. Arscott, Alexander. Some Considerations Relating to the Present State of the Christian Religion…Parts I and II.

This imprint was bound by Stephen Potts and is the earliest Franklin imprint we have seen where it is possible to identify all of the craftsmen involved in its production. The work is in two parts, and is complete. Although Miller assigns a single entry for both parts of Arscot's work, Evans gives each part a separate entry, and the American Antiquarian Society has only part one, pointing to the possibility that not all copies were bound up together. A charming and quite early Franklin imprint.

Rare: WorldCat lists only one institutional copy and RareBookHub lists the last copy at auction in 2008. Before that there are a total of only 11 copies going back to 1904.

Among the earliest Franklin books in the collection, and the earliest known in which every craftsman of its production can be named: Franklin the printer, Stephen Potts the binder. Both parts present; the American Antiquarian Society has only the first. One institutional copy in WorldCat; eleven at auction since 1904, the last in 2008.
