The 'English Hippocrates' accommodated to the climate and diseases of the United States by the American who thought himself Sydenham's heir. Rush's notes are a running argument with the text — where Sydenham trusted nature, Rush trusted the lancet. This copy belonged to Dr. John Crawford, whose ownership signature is on the title.
