The second entry is a letter from Rush regarding James Durham, and African American slave and physician, as well as Thomas Fuller, who Rush states had an extreme aptitude for mathematics and was the "African Calculator." This issue also contains the first part of the "Rejoinder to a reply to the enquiry into the justice and policy of punishing murder by death" (see 1789.RUSH.B4 this collection)
