Four years of minutes, correspondence with Governor Mifflin, and formal recommendations -- the institutional memory of the College's engagement with the epidemic. The correspondence with Mifflin reveals the impossible position of the state: consulting both the College and the Academy, receiving contradictory advice from equally credentialed physicians, unable to determine which theory was correct and therefore unable to act definitively on either.
